Basilica Cistern
Built during the Byzantine era to meet the city's water needs, this structure has a unique atmosphere with its columns and the Medusa statue inside. You should not leave Istanbul without seeing this historic site, which has been renovated and now hosts cultural and artistic events.
Galata Tower
You must see this historical tower to almost have a bird's-eye view of Istanbul. Built by the Genoese in 528, this tower served various purposes, including being a lighthouse, a prison, and even a fire tower. It is also associated with Hezârfen Ahmed Çelebi, who claimed to be the first human to fly. According to Seyahatnâme, in 1632, he launched himself from Galata Tower with wings, gliding from the tower to Üsküdar.
